April brings the return not only of warmer weather, but also of our dear friends The Reptilian who are returning with a couple of special friends. Milhouse’s basement will be opening up for the first time to host this show since the legendary Deerblood House stopped hosting shows a couple of years ago. Here’s a preview of what you’ll be hearing.
DADS: Sad that Snowing are no longer around? (provided you know who they are) Have no fear, DADS might be able to relieve some of those awful feelings. With just a guitar, a set of drums, and some honest lyrics, DADS will bring Kalamazoo their version of twinkly emo from New Brunswick, NJ. These dads will be a hell of a lot more fun than your dad could ever hope to be. Pinky promise.
You Me & Us: These guys and gal bring infectious garage surf pop from their home in SoCal. Similar to Best Coast and Girls, but all that much sweeter (with, perhaps, a tinge of bitterness), you’ll find yourself imagining long walks on sunny beaches, sand between your toes, and eating bubblegum ice cream in a sugar cone. Or at least, that was my first thought. Summer may still be a couple of months away, but I’m sure you’ll be just as warm watching this band play live.
Chances are if you’re reading this article, you already know who The Reptilian is. Really, they need no introduction. Just in case you don’t though, why not watch this video?
And lastly, but surely not least, the gods of pop punk, Blink-182 Tribute have returned for an encore of some sick tunes from the band we all love to hate and hate to love (or just plain love). Be prepared for sing-alongs, whether you feel like it or not.
Please, please, please bring cash for the donation jar. Gas is around $4 a gallon these days. Help these guys move forward! The show starts at 9. See you there!
