FUZZ.REVERB.FEEDBACK. – Skull Kid (PA) | Take One Car (NY) | Edith | Cardboard Highway | Welcome Neighbors – 5/28 – Rey Mysterio’s

Too many bands on this bill to waste your time being long-winded about the whole thing. Two out of towners. Three locals. One house. Lots and lots of hooks and yelling. Too good to miss! But don’t take my word for it, listen to the sounds yourself.

SKULL KID (Pittsburgh, PA) sound like the band you’re going to get obsessed with this summer

TAKE ONE CAR (Poughkeepsie,NY) sound like the lines you’ll get stuck in your head for days that you might accidentally falsely attribute to mewithoutYou

EDITH (here) sounds like if Alex G broke into your band’s practice space with some friends and just started fucking around with some new stuff you haven’t heard yet

CARDBOARD HIGHWAY (here) sound like Kalamazoo in 2009 though you just moved here last year so you’re not entirely sure what that’s all about but it feels nostalgic as all get out.

WELCOME NEIGHBORS (here) sound like a new band that you might not have heard and wont unless you just go to the show yourself and give it a listen.

TWO GROUPS FROM FAR AWAY SO DONATE. BE KIND TO REY MYSTERIO AND HIS ABODE.

Rock n’ Roll Basement Show @The Forbidden Zone Tomorrow Night! (5/23)

If you’re looking to blow some steam, this is your chance. Three touring bands of all flavors are making their way out to the Zone, and I for one, couldn’t be more excited!

Human Skull (Danceable Punk Rock from Ann Arbor) Metro Detroit posted a quick read about them earlier this month

Ping Pong (Psych Garage Punk from Ann Arbor) This recently released full length is just about as interesting as their album cover

The Neffs (Psych Folk Rock from Pittsburg) The Neffs add a nice and warm, southern flare to their performance as they let their hearts out. In other words, good ol’ punk rock that I’m sure you’ll enjoy

Polychrome Violence (local punk rock) from around the block

please bring donations for the touring bands!

Let’s make this a reminder for why the music has yet to die

No Fun House having no fun.

Hey all,

So on Monday the 11th, No Fun House (a show-house here in town since 2010!) experienced one of those tragedies that nobody ever thinks will happen to them. A fire started in the house and many of the inhabitants – all show-goers, supporters, performers, and even a founding member of this very website – lost not only their home in the short-term, but also a huge portion of their belongings.

This is an unprecedented post, but I feel that it is completely warranted given the nature of this tremendous adversity.

Please consider donating to this gofundme page and helping out a group of people who have worked hard and supported the Kalamazoo music community by performing, booking, and even hosting shows in their home.

Thanks y’all,
