Beast in the Field is a two piece Stoner/Doom band from Midland, Michigan. If you have attended a Beast in the Field show you know what you’re in for….if not…let me fill you in.
This is the loudest band you will ever see at a house show in Kalamazoo. Beast in the field is partially responsible for a revision of Kalamazoo noise ordinances after Boiling Pot Festival. The music is catchy, heavy and loud. What’s not to like?
Kalamazoo….what are you really doing on a monday night in the dog days of summer?
Louies is providing a jam packed night of entertainment featuring a star studded line up of garage rock influenced bands. Why not check it out?
SHILOH (Chicago)–The self proclaimed “scum pop” band from Chicago will be gracing the stage tonight. I would suggest that fans of Jake Simmons and The Little Ghosts give this band a listen!
THE HOUND–New local garage rock act that has began to make some waves. The Hound features the drumming talents of Ryan Pate, the insanely awesome drummer from Lost in Translation, Good News and Brown Cow.
Tim Tapper–Multi-faceted local legend TIM TAPPER will be performing heart felt acoustic songs!

Mehrunes Dagon is a newer outfit out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a sucker for stoner metal I was instantly drawn in by their tunes. This is a band that would go great with Beast In the Field or The Sword. We have the pleasure of having them back to The Black Lodge for another shot at Kalamazoo.
The first Mehrunes Dagon show was an affair to remember. Rarely do we see bands that give off that super authentic vibe. These dudes make heavy slow metal because this is who they are! Give their tunes a listen at the following link…
Joining the ranks of this all star line up we have Reconnect. Reconnect is a hardcore group from Lansing that is comprised of members of Lansing’s banned and burned! Cody howls and plays the guitar with pure unadulterated emotion. Staring off like a wild man into empty space like he wants to explode. Another not to miss act!
Locals on the show include…
Timelapse-Brutal hardcore from Battle Creek.
Fossil Eyes-Members of The now defunct band penguin collector and some new friends have reconvened to give bring us some delightful new tunes. A little more on an indie rock inclination than all of the other bands, but a great addition to the show!
Please donate to the two out of town bands! Come hang!
